Receptionist

POSITION SUMMARY: 

To work as part of a team. Provides secretarial support services to the physicians and staff. Typing, preparing reports, processing patients, receiving visitors, answering phones and taking messages, maintaining files, processing insurance, making patient calls, ordering office supplies.

MAJOR DUTIES/CRITICAL TASKS

  1. Verify all patient information for correctness and completeness.

  2. Verify insurance coverage and benefits

  3. Call patients to confirm appointment, co-pay or deductible due at time of service and answer any patient questions.

  4. Greet visitors, inquire as to purpose of visit and announce to appropriate person.

  5. Notify patients of prolonged waiting time and reason if appropriate.

  6. Establish, maintain and revise filing system ensuring patient confidentiality

  7. Tactfully handles difficult situations; contacts are handled professionally and consistently with courtesy.
