Help Desk Support Specialist

Southwest Gastroenterology Associates is an independent private practice caring for adult patients with gastrointestinal and liver diseases. We currently have a position for a Help Desk Support Specialist who will provide technical support to end-users and patients on a variety of issues via telephone and email/chat.

MAJOR DUTIES/CRITICAL TASKS

  1. Leading duty will be Telehealth support troubleshooting audio and video conferencing platforms such as Zoom.

  2. Demonstrate baseline security skills for IT support professionals.

  3. Configure device operating systems, including Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS, and administer client-based as well as cloud-based (SaaS) software.

  4. Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.

  5. Troubleshoot, and problem solves core service and support challenges while applying best practices for documentation.

  6. Gain feedback from staff about computer usage.

  7. Run diagnostic programs to determine problems.

  8. Install computer peripherals for users.

  9. Follow up with staff to ensure the issue has been resolved promptly.

  10. Excellent phone etiquette.

  11. Good written and oral communication skills.

  12. Provide feedback on continuous improvement

  13. Research new technologies and solutions.

  14. Knowledgeable of protocol and packet analysis

  15. Duties as assigned by Systems Administrator

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Must be able to work from home.

  2. Desktop client security: Anti-virus and OS patch management.

  3. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Installations and troubleshooting) Office 365 support a plus.

  4. VOIP telephony support.

  5. EMR support and end-user management.

  6. Microsoft Active Directory (Add, Delete, Change).

Education:

  1. High school diploma

  2. A+ Certification or equivalent years of experience/education.

  3. Actively pursuing a career in Information Technology or Healthcare Information Technology.
