Southwest Endoscopy, LTD (SWE), is an ambulatory care facility providing a nearly full range of gastrointestinal endoscopy services to outpatients only.

Dr. Angelina A. Villas-Adams

Southwest Gastroenterology Associates, P.C. is pleased to announce Angelina A. Villas-Adams, M.D. will be joining the practice on August 15, 2011. Dr. Villas-Adams received her Bachelor degree in Chemistry in 2000 and graduated from the University of New Mexico Cum Laude. She went on to complete her Medical Degree at the UNM School of Medicine in 2005. She completed an internal medicine residency at UNM School of Medicine in 2008 and a Gastroenterology Fellowship in 2011. She is board certified in Internal Medicine.

Southwest Gastroenterology was started by Dr. Robert M. Lynn in 1982 as a solo gastroenterology practice. Since then the practice has grown to include a twelve physician practice as well as two nurse practitioners. Southwest Gastroenterology Associates has provided care throughout New Mexico, and is known for its excellent patient care and high patient satisfaction. Southwest Gastroenterology is an independent, private practice.

In 1998 Southwest Gastroenterology opened up Albuquerque’s first ambulatory surgical center exclusively for endoscopy. All of the Southwest Gastroenterologists perform endoscopy procedures at Southwest Endoscopy.

We at Southwest Gastroenterology are delighted to have Dr. Villas-Adams join us as she will continue our commitment to deliver the highest quality healthcare to our patients.

Information for Patients

Your primary care physician may ask you to see a gastroenterologist for a number of reasons. Although it is not necessary to have a referral to be seen by one of our physicians. If you have been referred to our office, or if you would like to schedule an appointment without a referral, please call (505) 999-1600, Mon-Fri 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Important Notice:

We are currently transferring to an electronic medical record, and patients will be required to complete a medical information form including a complete medication list prior to the office visit, for new patients and follow-up appointments.  This will require additional time to complete the form before seeing the physician or nurse practitioner.  Please allow additional time prior to your appointment. We appreciate your time and understanding during this conversion.


As of December 1. 2009, Southwest Gastroenterology is no longer contracted to provide services for Presbyterian Insured patients.  For more information, please call our office at (505) 999-1600.   Click here for more details.
